This photo features the Cargill Poole grain elevator set against the backdrop of Lake Erie, a subject I've photographed before. What makes this image unique is the unexpected appearance of the Atlas comet, which graced our night skies in the fall of 2025. Although the comet went unnoticed by my naked eye at the time, it revealed itself in the photograph. Initially, I thought there was a problem with my lens, but then I recalled Atlas was visible that night. This image reminds me how sometimes the camera can capture details we might miss, unveiling moments that go unnoticed in real time.
